A family crew on Cicero roofs since 2020.
Who we are
I'm Luis Vega. I spent twelve years on other people's crews before I started Vega Roofing in 2020, and I still carry a hammer most days. My brother Andres runs our second crew. Between the two of us there are five of us on the roof, and everybody has been with us at least two seasons.
We live in Cicero. We work on the same brick bungalows and two-flats we grew up around, and when we tear off a roof on 35th Street the neighbors know whose truck is parked out front. That matters to me. A bad job would follow me to the grocery store.
Here is how we do business. I inspect the roof myself, on the roof. You get a written, itemized estimate the same day, with the shingle named and one price on it. Then you get me or Andres on the phone from the first call to the final walkthrough. No call center, no salesman who never comes back.

What we do
Four things, done the way the buildings on this side of town need them done.
-
Shingle roof replacement
Full tear-off down to the deck, rotted boards replaced, ice and water shield at the eaves and in every valley, synthetic underlayment, and architectural shingles with a matching ridge cap. Most Cicero and Berwyn bungalows are torn off and dried in the same day. The old roof goes in our dumpster, not on your parkway.
-
Roof repair
Shingles gone after a storm, a leak at the chimney or a cracked vent boot, a valley that was never flashed right the first time. We fix the problem you called about, photograph it before and after, and put in writing whether anything else on that roof is coming due.
-
Flat roofs on bungalows and two-flats
Modified bitumen or TPO over the flat sections of bungalows, the rear additions on two-flats, and detached garages. Parapet walls get new coping and counterflashing, because on a two-flat that is where most of the leaks actually start, not in the field of the roof.
-
Soffit and fascia
Aluminum soffit and fascia over the rotted wood, vented so the attic can breathe in August. We schedule it the same week as the roof so the drip edge, gutter apron, and fascia meet the way they should instead of being pieced together by two different crews.
Every roof we put on has a Vega name on the invoice, and we drive past most of them on the way to work.
How a Vega job runs
-
You call. Luis or Andres picks up.
We set a time to look at the roof within two working days, and we show up in the white truck with our name on the door. If it is an active leak, say so and we come sooner.
-
We inspect the roof, on the roof.
Not from the driveway with binoculars. We walk it, check the flashing, the valleys, the parapets on a two-flat, and the attic if you let us in. We photograph what we find and show you the pictures.
-
Written estimate, same day.
One page, itemized, with the shingle or membrane named and one price on it. It comes to your email or your hand the same day we inspect. No "starting at," no second number when the truck shows up.
-
We tear off, dry in, and finish.
Most bungalows in one day, most two-flats in two. Flat sections and soffit are scheduled the same week so the whole roof is closed up at once. Andres or Luis is on site the entire time.
-
We clean up and walk the job with you.
Magnet sweep for nails across the yard, gangway and parkway, gutters cleared of debris, and a walkthrough with you before the final payment. You keep the photos.
What the neighbors say on Google
Luis looked at our bungalow on a Tuesday and had the estimate in my email that afternoon. The crew tore off and finished in one day and the yard was cleaner when they left than when they came.
Rosa M. Cicero, March 2026, Google
We had a leak over the back porch of our two-flat for two years and two other companies patched it. Andres found the parapet had no counterflashing. Fixed properly, no leak through the June storms.
Daniel K. Berwyn, May 2026, Google
Fair price, written estimate on the spot, and they matched the new soffit to the neighbor's so the block still looks right. Would call them again.
